Dennis also did work for a commercial cabinet and fixture company, managing projects at Dillard's, Foley's and Macy's Department stores.

Upon returning to Springfield, Dennis and Lezlie began designing and building speculative and custom homes as well as completing large renovation projects. The couple agrees that having a woman's influence in designing a home often translates into a more livable and stylish design. The Robbins incorporate 'green' products whenever possible in their homes and encourage the use of environmentally friendly materials.

 Dennis and Lezlie's son, Shane, also works in the family business as a skilled carpenter and plans to carry on the family tradition in the building industry. Dennis and his brother, Mike, also develop residential neighborhoods.
